Market as Metaphor for Nonprofit Content
This is a picture of the produce market in Munnar, India. Produce markets are truly everyday miracles. All this lush, ripe, colorful food is right there, in heaping mounds. It’s just waiting for someone to put some in their basket, take it home, smell it, anticipate tasting it, and enjoy every bite.
It’s easy to forget all the work that goes into all the millions of markets, every day, everywhere in the world. All the tilling, planting, pruning, watering, weeding, harvesting, transporting, and carefully displaying. All the patience and collective effort, just for that moment someone puts out a hand to choose a delicious piece.
So this seems a really apt metaphor for what it takes to bring out each each piece of fresh nonprofit content. Just for that one moment when someone’s eyes pause, and they click.
